Prior to any new floorcovering being installed the subfloor needs to be considered and prepared for a successful installation and performance of the flooring.

There are floor compounds to suit various subfloor types and for a range of applications (specialist, residential / domestic, commercial, industrial). Also, for internal use and external use.

Smoothing compounds are typically applied to subfloors prior to a floorcovering being installed. There are fast setting and rapid drying options for projects requiring minimal disruption and reduced downtime.

Aggregates are often used with a suitable smoothing compound when thicker applications are required.

Some damp proof membranes or DPM  are designed to suppress residual construction moisture from affecting the final floorcovering installation.

The easy to use Uzin NC 182 Rapid Repair Mortar 12.5kg is used for patching, repair / filling of holes for most substrates and can be used as a feather edge. 

Hanson flooring grade Plywood is often suitable as a sub floor base for most flooring applications. Installing sheet plywood or Hardboard prior to some flooring applications can help cover imperfections and create a flat steady surface.
